We are seeking an experienced legal assistant to provide secretarial and paralegal administrative support to the Partner in personal injury and litigation matters. Key skills include attention to detail, proactiveness in dealing with day-to-day matters (management of files, scheduling, accounting, file reviews, matter sensitivity), and verbal and written communication.

Applicants should have:-

  • Minimum two years experience.
  • Approximate typing speed of 70 WPM.
  • Ability to troubleshoot computers/printers an asset.

Experience with online Court system and drafting Court/Workers Compensation Commission documents preferred.

Fielden & Associates is a well-established, boutique law firm specialising in family law. We are currently seeking an experienced Legal Secretary/Administrative Assistant for a part time position with an immediate start. Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with clients and legal professionals, taking instructions
  • Drafting and amending legal documents and correspondence
  • File Management
  • Printing, photocopying and scanning legal documents
  • Billing and Legal Aid claims
  • Diary and e-mail management
  • Data entry
  • General administration tasks

This is a varied role with a high level of autonomy and opportunities to further develop your skills. To be considered for this role, you will have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar position as well as: Mandatory Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, flexibly and cooperatively as part of a team
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
  • The ability to manage your time effectively and work towards set goals
  • Strong computer skills, including MS office & Xero working in an Apple environment
  • High level attention to detail with strong organisational ability
  • Current Police Clearance and WWC or willingness to obtain these Desirable
  • Experience in family law with a working knowledge of legal procedures
  • Experience in online court filing
